Will this be the end of Urg? Will he climb from the murky depths to seek his revenge? I’ll let these questions haunt you for now. Most of you guys are probably familiar with the movie that inspired this comic. For those of you that are not, it was “Frankenstein” from the year 1931. I really loved this scene and I read that this scene was cut from the original because it was so controversial at the time! Click on the image below to see the classic clip!
I’m excited to move on to my next story line and, if you notice the time of year, you may be able to guess what direction I’m heading… see you next time!
Awesome new comic Tim! Hope we see Urg again one day, the recreation of this scene from Frankenstein (1931) with Urg and Sunny was brilliant, great Vinnie the Vampire special, loved it & looking forward to your new storyline as well π
I’m glad you liked it, Paul! Thanks for your continued support!
Great ending! Yeah, I didn’t think Urg (Or should we call him Glurg) stood a chance against Sunny! π
Well, he did grab her, which is farther than I thought he’d get…it all may have been part of her nefarious plot!
Great story-arc!
Thanks, P.J.!
Ha Ha! I’m glad Sunny didn’t take the dip! Better Urg I always say!
Great tribute to the film, Tim. I also enjoyed watching the video clip.
When I first devised this story line I was hoping to incorporate this clip somehow! π
I could hear the sad violin music!
Sadder strings have never been strummed…well, you don’t actually strum the violin, but I couldn’t find a better word.
It’s a-laugh, it’s a-laugh, IT’S A-LAUGH! I’m sure James Whale would have approved! Wonderful homage, Tim!
Thanks, Mark! I could only hope for his blessing of my blatant rip off! π
Dark night of the Sun(ny)! Awesome strip, Tim. Really well done!
Thanks, Chris, I’m glad you liked it!
Poor Urg, hope we see him again. Great arc Tim, loved everything about this.
Thank you, Kristie! I haven’t written him off yet…
I am still trying to figure out how you rendered that nicely-done shimmering image near the end. It turned out beautifully, Tim. And the black and white effect of the entire strip makes me so jealous of your skills.
Thank you, George, but I assure you have have no secret skills, I just play with filters until I get lucky….a lot of trial and error!:)
This has the heartwarming qualities of a Mel Brooks movie, all it needs is Sunny waving a torch in URG’s face and asking ” do you like fire? “
Haha! I loved “Young Frankenstein”. I’m not sure if I’d hoist myself up to the ranks of Mel Brooks! π
